Macintosh Killed the Cord Twirling Call

$1,800.00

10 x 10 x 6 inches (25 x 25 x 15 cm)

2024

This effigy to the old landline phone call is shaped by nothing but the waste packaging from half an Apple desktop, half an ipad and 2 iPhones.

This sculpture, constructed only from the cardboard of former Apple Mac packaging boxes, has several moving parts. The call buttons retract when the handset is mounted (just like the old days) and the spring-loaded rotary dial spins. Meticulously crafted - still from nothing but Apple waste packaging - the cord can be mindlessly twirled around any working finger, so long as the conversation is engrossing enough to warrant blissfully thoughtless fidgeting.

This piece includes a metal title plaque and mounts on a wall, or displays free standing on a shelf or pedestal.

Note: This is not an operable telephone. Does not include message pad for mindless doodling.
