Another Kind of Fuel Pump

$3,800.00

Full-Scale Kinetic Sculpture with Multiple Articulating Parts

Salvaged wood & cardboard

48 x 24 x 15 inches (1.2 x 6.1 x 0.4 m)

2024

This pump of different “fuels” is made possible by drinking over 720 lbs of beer and soda. Strictly made - inside and out - from 100% recycled wood and cardboard boxes transporting only alcohol and sugary beverages, this sculpture has several moving parts. The dials can be turned to read out the various nicknames of soft and hard drinks, their amounts, and their costs. The nozzle has a spring-action trigger while the hose can be removed and repositioned. The inner pump housing is framed with purely cardboard armatures, while the nozzle is hand-carved from an old wooden Coca-Cola crate.

This large sculpture includes a metal title plaque and low-rise exhibition pedestal (pictured) that free stands on the floor to display this piece. Pedestal measures 24 x 16 x 7 in / 61 x 41 x 18 cm, 8 lbs.

Bonus feature: this large piece is oriented for reconfiguration as a ‘keg skin’. A 1/2-inch food grade rubber hose threads through the cardboard hose and wooden nozzle. The inner pump house body has a hollow cavity to hide a small pony keg. Complete reconfiguration as a ‘keg skin’ - including hose adaptors, an on/off trigger and re-sizing the inner cavity for a keg - is available for an additional cost. As it stands currently, this is not an operable “keg skin”. Oh yeah, and this it not an operable gas pump.

PLEASE NOTE: Freight, over-sized or premium costs may necessary to ship this large item. International shipping may not be available in all areas. Overall dimensions for this shipment will be - 54 x 28 x 20 inches, 30 lbs.
