'MLKingwalker' 3-foot Hand-Carved & Articulating Wooden Statue

This articulating wood statue was hand-carved by Mike in 2013 as part of his “Empire Peaks“ series of Star Wars mash-ups. This 3-foot tall piece features 5 moving parts, articulated by internal wooden dowels engineered by Mike.

Also featured are 3 removable accessories, light saber, “vintage” radio & microphone, all hand carved by Mike. The light saber is a mixed media composition assembled with Mike’s hand-shaped translucent acrylic shaft mounted in hand carved & painted wooden handle.

Included with this purchase is the white-painted, wooden display base hand-made by Mike, photographed here. This display base features 1/2-inch diameter wooden foot pegs for secure mounting, and measures 26 x 26 x 6 inches tall.

They share the trait of chosen destiny. The utilities of the belt - weapons and tools of Luke's spiritual call to action - refer to King's media know-how and religious calling. Both serve as inspirational tipping points to paradigm shifts. Luke and King are each placed at the exactly right time and place to enact change and new dynasties. Though each struggle with the real-life ramifications of their role in history, neither falls to cowardice. Luke is 'the new hope' and King is the lasting hope of an entire century's worth of work.
