“Interactive Puppetry”

Who’s in control? It wasn't Mike, and he was the puppeteer of this performance. Mike usually performed with this life-size mannequin - reclaimed from a mannequin recycler then cut & re-stitched together for pose-ability - from behind a push button console for the audience to dictate the terms of the show.

Performed for schools and festivals dozens of times from 2000 to 2002, Mike’s puppet met its demise at the hands of a small band of unmonitored hippie children. They were wielding sticks while Mike was busking at an outdoor festival, and they were totally out of control.
