“Electric Painting Man”

Mike’s fascination with anthropomorphizing abstract expressionist paintings sustained itself through 2001, when he literally entered the painting itself. He just could NOT get an abstract canvas painting to move enough, not with electric motors or video art. So he had to jump inside. That was the only way he could make a painting move enough to catch the idea of those disenchanted with stagnant works - as large or “exciting” as they may be - decorating art history books and museum walls. So he peeled his canvases apart, painted a suit to match, and went to town.
