“Corrugated Kix”

Mike loves recycling because his Dad changed the field. Mike also loves making fun of consumer culture. These loves inspired his first cardboard shoe in 2006. Since adding dozens more, the series has expanded beyond art galleries, museums and shoe geek collections. Now this art & recycling project is moving into education with teaching units worldwide, templates, tutorial videos and how-to books as teaching aids and support for DIY makers. And in 2024, you can see Mike’s entirely new body of “Trash Talking” work, including many new cardboard shoe renditions.

Each of Mike’s cardboard shoes are life-size, roughly 12 x 6 x 4 inches, hand-made from recycled cardboard, glue and hand-painted with acrylic.

When available, some will be listed in Mike’s shop.
