BOOKS & WRITING

If the written word wasn’t so powerful, there’d be no tags on museum walls or glossy hardcovers adorning artsy coffee tables. It’s also true that one sentence can be worth a thousand pictures. Mike can’t shake it from his practice. He’s tried. He’s tried to be a pure visual artist. It just doesn’t work. For years, Mike has written non-fiction to make sense of pictures. But he didn’t do his first art book until 2018, or start writing fiction until 2020. Now, with a renewed appreciation for the power of literature, not in a lifetime of studio work could Mike sculpt the worlds he can conjure while writing a story.

Mike’s work has been published in a long series of surveys and anthologies, sampled below.
